The library, either community or school-based, plays a very important role in informing and educating the people through the services it offers, mainly books, pamphlets, serials, documents, research publications, news and digital collections.
In addition to the common and customary services, some libraries offer meeting areas, story-telling and creative areas for children.
The Covid-19 lockdown caused the libraries to be closed as residents are told to stay at home to prevent widespread coronavirus infection in the locality in particular and the country in general.
Nevertheless, the temporary closure of public establishments like the libraries is not a total loss of services at all. It actually provides an opportunity to apply the carpe diem strategy.
