The World Bank report titled “Climate and Disaster Resilient Transport in Small Island Developing States: A Call for Action 2017” discusses the situation of island states in the Caribbean, Pacific, Africa, and the Indian Ocean regions.
This was published initially at the Climate Adaptation site.
The report tackles the following topics:
- Unique vulnerability of small island developing states to natural disasters and climate change impacts
- Managing these vulnerabilities and enhancing resilience
- Factoring disaster and climate change in transportation asset management
- Case studies
Interestingly, the report presented case studies in Pacific countries, like Samoa, Kiribati, Tuvalu, and Tonga, among other small island developing states (SIDS).
Maria Cordeiro and Frederico Ferreira Pedroso are the authors of this report. You can read more about the authors in the post at the Climate Adaptation site.
